KILLER BLACKBERRY SMOOTHIE
Kalejunkie & Organic Girl Collaboration
It's no secret that I'm obsessed with ORGANIC GIRL. I'm busy and between juggling a FT corporate job, being a mom of two littles (ages 2 and 4 months), and keeping up with my blog and Instagram, I really don't have time to wash and dry my greens. I barely have time to put on makeup and get myself out the door each day :) So I am grateful that Organic Girl makes it so easy for me to feed my family ALL THE GREENS, and let's be honest here - have you ever picked up a container of Organic Girl and it didn't look so fresh? I don't think so. Quality, my friends, quality. That's what you always get in a container of Organic Girl.
So when they asked me to go on Tour with them and show off their new line of Butter and ButterPlus! lettuce varieties, I jumped at the opportunity. I created the most delicious smoothie recipe using the ButterPlus! lettuce and it's FAB! The great thing about the ButterPlus! lettuce is that it contains as much iron as spinach! So much nutritional hang for your buck!
So back to the smoothie, let me tell you about it.
1 frozen banana
1 cup frozen blackberries
1 3/4 to 2 cups almond milk
1 small handful Organic Girl Butter Lettuce Plus
1 scoop Vital proteins collagen peptides (optional)
Toppings: Navitas sweetened cacao nibs, chia seeds, bee pollen (all optional)
It couldn't be any easier to make this smoothie. Grab your high speed blender (I use my Vitamix, aka favorite kitchen appliance) and throw in all the ingredients in and blend. Adjust liquid as necessary (i.e., if you like thicker smoothies, use less almond milk). Get creative with your toppings!
