Recipe by Sarah,  @_afreshpurefood

Know what’s better than slaving away in the kitchen creating your own recipes? Making someone else’s and calling it a day. I've been meaning to make these RAW CHOCOLATE DONUTS from my friend Sarah over at @_afreshpurefood ever since she posted them. If you don't know Sarah, she is an amazing down-to-earth mama based here in the Bay Area, and like me, she creates SIMPLE recipes with few ingredients, that are tasty AF. If you don’t follow her on Instagram, please do! I'm all about #womensupportingwomen). I made a few adjustments to her recipe based on the ingredients I had on hand, and they came out perfectly!

If you make these please make sure to tag us both on Instagram, we would love to see your creations too!

for the donuts:

1 c oat flour
1 c coconut flour
1/4 cup cacao powder
2 tb carob powder (I left it out because I didn’t have)
pinch of pink salt
1 cup dates, pitted
1/4 melted coconut oil
4 tb maple syrup
1 tb vanilla extract
2-3 tb coconut milk

for the frosting:

1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
1/4 cup almond butter
1/4 cup cacao powder
2 tb maple syrup

In a food processor, add all ingredients for the donuts and pulse until blended together well. it will be a little crumbly, but if too crumbly, add a bit more coconut milk.
In a silicone donut pan, press down dough into each donut hole.
Freeze for at least 45 minutes.
While donuts are freezing, make frosting by whisking together all of the frosting ingredients.
Remove donuts from freezer and pop them out of the mold.
Dip each one into the chocolate. Since the donuts are cold, the chocolate will get hard right away.
Add any toppings! I used chocolate dipped chia seeds and sliced almonds! Enjoy!
